We may collect information about you in a variety of ways. The information we may collect via the Services includes:
Personal Data
Personally identifiable information, such as your name, email address, telephone number, and demographic information, such as your age, gender, hometown, and pet-related interests, that you voluntarily provide when you register with the Services, join the waitlist, or participate in activities such as posting pet photos, commenting, or using the Adoption Hub.
Derivative Data
Information our servers automatically collect when you access the Services, such as your IP address, browser type, operating system, access times, and the pages you have viewed directly before and after accessing the Services.
Mobile Device Data
Device information, such as your mobile device ID, model, and manufacturer, when you access the Services from a mobile device.
Location Data
If you grant location permission, we collect precise GPS coordinates from your device (latitude, longitude, estimated accuracy in meters, and the time of that fix) while you are using the Grampets mobile app. We do not request background or “always-on” location. We send this location with authenticated requests to our servers — the main Grampets API and the chat API — so we can:
- Attach a place to posts, marketplace listings, and pet-adoption listings you create.
- Rank and filter nearby marketplace and adoption listings and otherwise personalize content.
- Operate, secure, and prevent abuse of the Services (including chat).
Other users may see an approximate place label (for example city or region) on content that includes location. We do not display your exact coordinates to other users. You can deny the system prompt or later turn location off in your device settings; we then omit location from requests, and nearby / place features degrade. Revoking permission does not by itself delete location already stored on content you published.
Data from Social Networks
User information from social networking sites, such as Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter, including your name, social network username, location, gender, birth date, email address, profile picture, and public data for contacts, if you connect your Grampets account to such social networks.
User-Generated Content
Content you create and share on the Services, such as pet photos, videos, comments, and posts in the Adoption Hub or community groups, which may include information about you or your pets.
